A TOWN WALLED 1995 - 2024 - A town desperate , fighting to survive invites a prison in on there doorstep. The prison is built on the former site of a psychiatric mental hospital .Castlerea was established as part of the system of district mental hospitals in 1939. Operating intermittently as a tuberculosis sanitorium, it continued to function as a hospital until 1994 when it was closed. It was renamed St. Patrick's Hospital during the 1960s. From 1996 it opened as a prison accepting a small intake of inmates that year. Construction work on the main cell blocks of the prison was completed in 1998Castlerea Prison (Irish: Príosún an Chaisleáin Riabhach) is a closed category, medium security prison in Castlerea, County Roscommon, Ireland. It houses men over 17 years of age. As of 2022, it had a bed capacity of 340 and the daily average number of resident inmates was 320.

DUKE BOX EGLINTON - 2022- In July 2022 I worked in Galway Ireland with students from William and Mary University Williamsburg Virginia. The cleanup at the Eglinton Canal Galway 10 July 2022 William And Mary University students and Galway kayak club removed found objects from the canal for use in sculpture, objects listed in https://issuu.com/noelmolloy/docs/bis... , and one of the objects is a 45 vinyl single record for a juke box . Some times objects find me and this is one such time. The music on one side is titled 'Big Bill the Builder' a propaganda song, which is about... DIRECTORS STATEMENT In recent years we have heard the phrase FAKE NEWS branded about a lot , there is nothing new about the phrase it is just another word for propaganda. As long as there are gains to be made from profit and power it will continue to flourish and none so more than in the age of the internet and social media. William Hale Thompson (May 14, 1869 – March 19, 1944) was an American politician who served as mayor of Chicago from 1915 to 1923 and again from 1927 to 1931. Known as "Big Bill", he is the most recent Republican to have served as mayor of Chicago. Historians rank him among the most unethical mayors in American history, mainly for his open alliance with Al Capone. However, others recognize the effectiveness of his political methods and publicity-oriented campaigning, acknowledging him as a "Political Chameleon" and an effective political machine. Time magazine said in 1931, "chief credit for creating 20th Century Politics Chicago Style" should go to William Thompson. Thompson was known for his over-the-top campaigning and uncensored language that, along with his towering height and weight, earned him the nickname "Big Bill". Upon his reelection in 1919, Thompson had the school board suspend the Superintendent of Chicago Public Schools, William McAndrew. He was also at the forefront of the movement for the Chicago Public Library system and education officials to censor and ban many texts and historical recollections coming from the United Kingdom. His efforts to expand and publicly improve the streets of Chicago earned him another nickname of "Big Bill the Builder". In his time as mayor, he oversaw the completion of the Michigan Avenue link bridge, the Twelfth Street widening, and the extension and widening of Ogden Avenue

The Cold War lasted about 45 years. There were no direct military campaigns between the two main antagonists, the United States and the Soviet Union. Yet billions of dollars and millions of lives were lost in the fight. Why was the Cold War not a hot war? A defining element of the Cold War was that it did not become a hot war. Neither the U.S. not the U.S.S.R. launched attacks on the territories of the other. Instead, the superpowers supported or intervened in the conflicts of nations in their spheres of influence.

WALL- 2016 -FLAG- When a country and its politicians demand a wall be erected to prevent emigrants from entering , it works both ways and mentally creates insular thinking and paranoia which leads to discrimination , abuse, racism and class distinction. In the film a flag representing a country becomes a wall, and it could be any country.

  Father Doran : It's the Widow's field. She has the right to sell it.
  "Bull" McCabe : No. It's my field. It's my child. I nursed it. I nourished it. I saw to its every want. I dug the rocks out of it with my bare hands and I made a living thing of it! My only want is that green grass, that lovely green grass, and you want to take it away from me, and in the sight of God I can't let you do that!
  Father Doran : Can't you find another field?
  "Bull" McCabe : Another field? Another field? Jesus, you're as foreign here as any Yank. Another field? Are you blind? Those hands, do you see those hands? Those rocks! It was a dead thing! Don't you understand?
  Father Doran : This is the Widow's field. That's the law. The common law.
  "Bull" McCabe : There's another law, stronger than the common law.
  Father Doran : What's that?
  "Bull" McCabe : The law of the land. When I was a boy, younger than Tadgh there, my brothers and sisters had to leave the land, because it couldn't support them. We wasn't rich enough to be priests or doctors, so it was the emigrant ship for all of them. I were the eldest, the heir. I were the only one left at home. Neighbours were scarce. So my father and I, we had our breakfast, dinner, and tea, working in that field without a break in our work. And my mother brought us the meals. One day, one day my father sensed a drop of rain in the air and my mother helped us bring in the hay before it was too late. She was working one corner of the field, and I was working in the other. About the third day, I saw her fall back, keel over so to speak. I called my father, I run to her. My father kneeled beside her. He knew she... he knew she was dying. He said an act of contrition into her ear and he asked God to forgive her her sins. And he looked at me, and he said, "Fetch a priest." Fetch a priest... And I said, "Let's - let's bring the hay in first. Let's bring the hay in first." My father looked at me with tears of pride in his eyes. He knew I'd take care of the land. And if you think I'm gonna face my mother in Heaven or in Hell without that field, you've got something else coming.
