Black Cat Award International Film Festival: APOCALYPSE NOW AND THEN.
We believe art is a means of exploration and understanding, a way to play, to discover, and to communicate ideas and perceptions relevant to matters of the day (and beyond the day). In New Feathers Anthology, we hope to include and encourage a variety of types of literature, giving both emerging and established writers and artists a place in which they can share ambitious literature and art. We like writing and art that takes chances, risks failure, that explores both the big and the small, the social, personal, and aesthetic, that experiments and plays with forms, that is serious about playful subjects and playful about serious subjects.

THE BOY WHO KISSED CORPSES officially selected into the Faba Films Festival. www.fabafilms.com/  and reviews
FABA FILMS REVIEW-This film captures with intimacy and quiet power a deeply rooted Irish tradition — the wake — balancing reverence for the dead with the communal rituals of remembrance, storytelling, music, and even humor. The narrative’s most haunting strand is told through the perspective of a child, lifted to kiss the foreheads of the deceased. That detail embodies both tenderness and unease: a collision of innocence with mortality that lingers long after. The criticism here is not of subject but of tone: the film must guard against nostalgia turning sentimental. What makes the story strongest is its stark honesty — death as ordinary, shared, and physical — and it should resist softening that truth with excessive romanticization. The wake is not only about celebration, but also about the confrontation with loss, and the film works best when it holds both truths. Visually, the cinematographer’s choice of handheld shots is especially effective. The slight tremor of the camera mirrors the fragility of memory and the immediacy of human presence. Handheld close-ups during the rituals — tea being poured, hands touching the coffin, the child leaning in for a kiss — lend an authenticity that static compositions might lack. The intimacy of this style places the viewer inside the room, as though a guest at the wake, sharing in both the discomfort and the warmth. Overall, the film succeeds as a poignant ethnographic and emotional record, carried by its human details and the cinematographer’s handheld lensing, which makes the rituals of death feel both profoundly communal and deeply personal.

"The film explores the notion of death through the child’s perspective—the movie camera—unfolding with a creative direction and a rarely seen form."

Attention, performers and allies of living art: we begin the publications of the selected works of the 9th PerformanceP - International Art Performance Show in São Paulo! 🔥🌍

Cards from participating artists will begin to appear on our networks and also in the gallery of NFTs from the show (link in bio).

We open with the work of @noelmolloy61, Ireland, who present us a memorial performance about an episode from 1921: the Roscommon community fire, carried out in retaliation by local security forces. The action, arbitrary and violent, echoes what so often happens in Brazilian favelas and suburbs to this day — where entire communities pay for isolated acts.

If at the arrival of the Europeans in 1500, they came from the Middle Ages and we came from the polished stone, today they say we are in the 19th century while the Global North already breathes the 21st century. We continue to burn communities — literally or symbolically.

The Christmas play is similar to commemorating the massacre of Candelaria or Vicar General, after 100 years without incident... it happens that every year we have "fires" in communities; but the numbers indicate improvement, thank God.

Celebrating this event, as the work suggests, is also a gesture of consciousness: what was done to prevent it from repeating there? What's missing so we can do the same here?

The direction of the show and curation are done by @ismaeltrabuco, artist and master's in performance and education, idealizer of PerformanceP since 2015, in partnership with @isaactrabuco, corporate and academic, communication specialist, communities and territories. Together, we lead this edition listening to the streets, the sidelines and the most urgent and emerging subjects.

I ALWAYS DREAMED OF GOING SOLO
but we are all in this together whether we like it or not. Sound Art Work 2025
I ALWAYS DREAMED OF GOING SOLO but we are all in this together whether we like it or not. / sound work / On Air - On Site is a sound investigation of a temporary radio event consisting of a broadcast schedule of 48 hours of non-stop streaming, including live performances, fixed media, and radio artworks specifically composed for the festival by an international community of sound artists.
The festival will be broadcast online and on FM from 8 pm on May 23 to 8 pm on May 25 (CEST). There will be live events on Saturday, May 24 at the Institute of Sonology and on Sunday, May 25 at West Den Haag. The project explores the boundaries of being simultaneously on air in a physical and virtual space, challenging different radio formats. On Air - On Site invites the involved artists and the public to reconsider the physical spaces as a context rather than a location and to rethink together a different relationship between communities and experimental radio practice.schedule for our third annual On Air - On Site Art Radio Festival and all fixed media artists are listed below. There is so much to do and we have not stopped working! This year's submissions are again just fantastic. All sorts of pieces, political, social, pure sound and vocal art. What strikes and touches me deeply is the amount of pieces that are dealing with the environment, and the many topics addressed. Here we are on this beautiful planet. Nature is strong and I want to trust her, and I think she will prevail, but we have to take good care of her, as we take good care of one another. With these thoughts. Picture credit goes to my neighbor George, who is an example of taking amazing care of the humans, animals, and plants around him.
